    Default Who's used the scorpion pre-cat decat?

    Hi all,

    I've just cut the centre cat out of my system, and replaced it with a piece of 400mm x 57mm stainless (£5!), nicely mig'd all the way round.

    Felt the difference in torque immediately and am now looking to replace the pre-cat.

    Scorpion seem to be the only people to offer the precat decat pipe, it's £150 so I thought I'd see if anyone has tried it first! Dont want to spend that money an waste probably 4 hours fitting it if it has an adverse/no effect.

    Any help/advice would be great thanks, Dave.

    I have it on mine plus a few other mods

    Improved the sound of the exhaust and seemed to improved power

    ive got an empty precat on mine (merikiito's old one coincidently) that i just knocked out the insides of and it was a great improvement on power and fuel economy, i will get the scorpion one at some point but the redneck approach will do for now

    edit: on a side note you'll be happy to know lee ive now got an airbag and have fitted that wheel and its lovely lol

    Hi guys is it easy enough to remove the precat on the cdti? And how long to remove/fit?

    Option1: If you haven't got a ramp then it's easier to take the bumper, front panel and strip out the rad/IC/condensor out to get to it, and then you'll have loads of room.

    Option2: Otherwise if you get under it, take off both undertrays, you can almost see where it bolts to the turbo, and you can spend some time stuggling and just get it off...

    When I do mine I'll do Option 1, and make the most of having it all stripped, -hybrid turbo, front mount IC and precat decat.

    tbh if you loosen the heat shield and have got a flexy head ratchet spanner with the help of some liberal swearing its not too bad and getting back on isnt too bad its just a bit of a juggling act
