    Default vectra 2.0 turbo stiff gear help

    Dont know if any one can help me but i think there some thing up with my 2nd gear . when i pull away in 1st which is ok its when you go down to 2nd it seems to bit abit stiff or feel likes its going to crunch but doesnt is there a quick fix to this or ? Im pritty sure its not normal .any advise will be great cheers .

    does it do this all the time i.e. when cold and when warmed up? has it always done it? how old is the car and how many miles has it done? Have you ever changed the gearbox oil since you owned it?

    I have only had the car a week so its under warranty , its deffantly doing it when cold not sure when hot ill have to check this , the cars 2007 with genuine miles 45 k on the clock ,not sure if gearbox oil has been changed but wouldnt it do it in all gears if it was the gear box oil ?

    its stiff when u pull the lever down into 2nd gear

    Mine did this I changed the gear box oil and it is alot better now it's a common fault apparently with turbo box

    oic ill have to try that then good heads up caveman/danny
    dont mean to sound a numty but where s the drain plug and filler point situated dan ? and how much should u use to refill?

    this might be too simple but I had this prob , prize off the gearstick gator and look in , mine had a wire with a brown connector on it that was fowling the gear change , not sure what the connctor block is for but its going nowhere . (maybe rear 12v outlet) .

    check under the gator as advised first as that must be worth checking..

    for reference purposes you should know that your engine is known as a Z20NET and the gearbox model is known as an F40..

    I used Castrol SMX oil from Halfords to do mine. Let us know how you get on.

    I have checked under the gaitor all seems fine so going to try the gearbox oil change next . How many litres to I use to refill was told 3.2 litres is this correct ? Was also advised by my local Vauxhall specialist it could need the gears re aligned . Does any body have a step step on realigning the gears ? Any how I'll report back on how I get on .

    just an update i have changed the gearbox oil but still have the same problem ,i think its improved it abit and its worse when the engine is cold , so going to try and realign the gears next will keep u all updated .
