    Default Which would be cheaper

    Which would be cheaper:

    1. Buy 08-09 XP2, fit VXR grills and fogs, VXR 19" wheels, remap.
    2. Buy 08-09 Standard SRI, fit XP2 side cills and front bumper, fit VXR grills and fogs, VXR 19" wheels, remap

Looking for car with tops 30k on the clock (1.9 CDTI 150) - just wondering if a standard Vec SRI would be a cheaper way of doing it

I would imagine that buying the XP2 would be a better option as a genuine XP2 will hold it's value better than an SRi with XP2 parts. Dunno if it would work out cheaper though.

The only difference inside is the steering wheel and gear knob from the VXR. Mine (57 plate) had Aux. in as standard too but I'm not sure if an 08 SRi would have that anyway.

The VXR bumper, body kit and wheels (standard multispoke or the £400 option Snowflakes) would cost a fair amount so dependant on how cheaply all of this could be picked up I would guess it would be cheaper to just buy an XP2.

I think it would be easier to insure too as all those modifications to a standard SRi might get an insurer very excited over loading the premium. Mine was around £60 a year more than a standard car.

If you do get one swapping the front grilles and fogs is a must IMO.

Nope it's from the VXR without the badges. Standard in the XP2s.
