Default Head rest with built in dvd players

Anybody here got head rests with built in dvd player?

ive seen a seller on ebay selling them and my daughter would absolutly love it for long trips and would stop her getting bord. The ones ive seen say they fit most cars and have 2 different diameter head rest poles tha slide into the seats.

I did think about the normal ones that strap onto the head rests but i think they look too bulky and cant be doing with keep taking it in and out of the car.

    thanks

Think they look brilliant - loads of games included, too. Any thoughts, peeps?

Beware Hebble, these things are a NIGHTMARE to wire in and unless you have a leather interior they will look out of place...

Ooooooo, thanks for that. I only have the part leather interior, as mine is the 'design' spec.

They did look a right mess of wires from the pics...

Should look OK if you have part-leather, just would look strange to any would-be tea-leaves if you had cloth seats and leather headrests! Serious pain to wire in though. Best off getting an auto-electrician to do it if you take the plunge. Could you not get a face-off double-din DVD headunit, and run a seperate, removable screen to the rear of your centre armrest?

As an ex-auto trimmer, I think I should point out that some headrest screens have very long screws holding the screens in, usually facing forwards.

This means that should the car brake or completely stop suddenly, the driver or front passenger could end up with a ****** great screw in the back of their heads. Doesn't really bear thinking about.

I'm not trying to scare anyone, but we saw quite a few like this, and they were all aftermarket headrests - ones that we recovered in leather and modded the mounts to alleviate this potential hazard - whether it be to replace the screws with shorter countersunk bolts and domed nuts or remove the screws and fix the screens in with semi-hardening mastic.

I would seriously recommend that if you buy some from an unknown source, then remove the cover to see how the screen is mounted......although with some, you could actually feel the ends of the screws through the foam!

Your money, your rules, but gotta be worth a check.

Good shout pedroMV6,i never thought of thats and thats go me thinking about the ones that strap onto the head rests now.

Would they stay in place in the event of an impact?

My daughter is only 18 months and considering the screen would only be a matter of feet from her im having second thoughts now.
