Default Need more power - 2.2 DTI!

    Folks,

How can I get more power out of the 2.2 DTI Siggy lump?

So far I have done the airbox mod and am desperately looking for a cheap K&N panel.

I dont really want to de-cat it or chip it, so just after some tips really.

It seems way down on power compared to my ex-Vec B 2.2 DTI SRI.

    Thanks.

    Bye bye Vec B

If they've not been done recently, new filters (fuel & oil) & fresh oil will help. Apart from that, check all the boost pipes for splits & loose clips then buy a tuning box.

How much am I looking at for a tuning box? Its had a service not so long ago som im happy with that. Will double check the pipes, but from history with Vec DTI engines a split pipe usually causes limp mode.

The tuning box is about £300. Speak to John.Robertson about them as he's got one fitted and swears by it. I also did an inlet manifold clean (see sig) and that has increased performance at the car can now breath!!

Maybe due to the C being heavier than the B, possibly?

I did think that and the fact that my B was an SRI, maybe that contributed?

Comparing Price to Performace, I have to say that the £40 I spent on a De-Cat is the way forward, plus the partial EGR Blanking probably helps, and a bit of 2 Stroke too.
My 2.0Dti is a much nicer car to drive now.
