Default Auto Dimming Mirrors - Great Idea

Aren't they great, get some to**pot with headlamps out of alignment or as i found out on the M1 earlier, side lights and fogs pointing up, arghhhhhh, god I hate that and down goes the mirror and this is the bit I've only just found after 4 weeks it is also on the drivers door mirror, how great is that.

So does anyone know if I can add it to the passenger mirror? Why not. should be simple enough, shouldn't it?

I love the idea of folding mirrors too. I know they had them on the older vecs but stopped by the time they made mine. Can I add that too?

what great mods, but surely too expensive I'm sure, unless I can find someone breaking the parts.

It is excellent, however the thing that could be a problem is that you cannot see if it is a police car behind you? So you could be doing a bit over the speed limit and get pulled over as you couldnt see the police behind you. However I stick to the limit so its not a problem.

I like the darkening mirror. The passengers will be doable, as on the continent the other mirror will be the darkening one. as for folding, this is an upgrade i'd really like as well. i was thinking the other day we should find a group of members with facelifts who all want to try it, all put in a little to buy a set of mirrors and see if it can be done!

there is a thread about it somewhere (was it Duncan?)... I remember it would be be extremely expensive because you have to replace several parts for the auto-fold mirrors

and for the passenger one, perhaps you could use one from a LHD but it would still need a connexion to the sensor on the inside mirror (over Canbus?)

True, but i'm sure the connection would be on both sides of the car.

Not that I would ever worry about such things as I never drive over the legal speed limit but if you put your thumb over the light sensor at the base of the mirror in the middle the mirror will go back to normal ... then remove your thumb as you accelerate away at high speed ... err I mean continue to drive sensibly and it will dim again

It's a great idea until you need to squeeze a zit or admire yourself in the dark.

You need the map reading light mod for that
