So... I went to the vauxhall garage today to get my rear electric widows programmed into the car. I went equipped with the full instructions which plasma made up as I asked before hand if they knew how to do it to which they replied no. So I got the car booked into vauxhall today for half 1. Got there and they said it's going to be 2 hours of labour at £60 + vat to get the job done to which I walked away from. My question now is is there anyone within 50 miles of Newcastle with tech 2 capabilities so that I can get this sorted.

That's about what all main dealers will charge for a Tech 2 session mate

I'm sure there's a thread on here listing people with Tech 2 / Opcom / Diagnostics / etc, somewhere.

Seriously? I can understand the hourly charge of £60 but to take two hours when the instruction are printed out infront of you seems a bit over the top? And they said they can't guarentee it will work :\...
I found this guy close by and he said he'll give it a shot... if he doesn't manage.. that's £40 down the drain for me (n)... hopefully should find out in about an hours time whether or not he manage... fingers crossed eyy...

its shocking isnt it when you get a job done and it doesnt work but
they still charge you.

i have a friend thats got tech2 setup and if they were doing a job and it
doesnt work etc then they wont charge,theres a fewer kind ppl around that
wud do that these days.

it really is shocking what the guys can charge you for a 20 minute job...
like Andy said even if it doesn't work they'll still charge you there hourly charge which is just wrong on sooo many levels :\ lol
But yeahhh the guy i took the car to just round the corner from the house is new to the whole tech2 thing just got the kit for it... i gave him the instructions on how to do it... and he had it done within half an hour electric windows now fully operational the guy was happy enough to try it just to see what he could do and if it didn't work wasn't going to charge but he managed to do it so only charge me £40 which is a lot better than £60+ vat time by 2 at vauxhall that can't even guarentee the job

sooo yeahh if anyone in the Newcastle area needs tech2'ing give me a shout and i'll give you Colin's number and address
