Default Might be a simple question.

If my New MAF sensor wasn't working right would that throw up the code P0100 for voltage problems or would it not work all together as soon as i start the car up and go into limp mode as at the moment it works for a while then drops into limp mode?

Might try in the morning by putting my old Bosch one back on seeing as it just had a split pipe before which would of been making the car go into limp mode before i brought the new sensor.

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

It probably would mate as they work on voltage.
As the air flow travelling through will increase current and therefore change voltage.

Maybe try cleaning it with some electrical contact cleaner.

    Vehicle : Signum

    Trim : Design

    Engine : 1.9 CDTi

    Year : 2005

    Default

    Causes

A code P0100 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

    • The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
    • The MAF sensor may be faulty

    Possible Solutions

The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:

    • Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
    • Unplug and reconnect the MAF wiring harness
    • Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information)
    • Replace the MAF sensor
