Default What to polish my newly sprayed plastics with?

Just sprayed the plastic trim that goes from by my steering wheel right to passenger door on the dashboard.

After taking it off, rubbing it down, priming it, painting it, laquering it, I must have re-done it about 3 times, first because of a drip, second because of bits in the laquer, and 3rd because paint had cracked off around were I masked off that little design strip!

Anyway managed to drill out the melted plastic tabs that hold that strip in and have decided to rub it down and re spray it again!

Just done my final clear coat, what do I use to polish it up? Can I use T-cut lightly or will it dull it?

Also, how do I remove the ashtray lid and the 12v socket surround and cap to paint that also, seems the little compartment above it is in the way but I can't get that out

Ash tray lid is delicate or you break the clips. You need a fine screwdriver. prise the clips off and slip the screw driver under to stop them reclipping back. takes about 5 mins to do.
The compartment comes out with a bit of force, I have Cig lighter so makes it easier, but i guess if you have the cap, pull the tray out a bit then angle up and remove. The cig lighter surround then just unclips. hope this helps

Got them out now, used a couple of flat bladed screwdrivers to get the compartment out then just tugged the ashtray, don't think I broke anything lol!

I hope so, car went in the garage this morning for cambelt, waterpump, alternator belt, brakes, CV joint and I asked them to have a good look at it as MOT is in november.

They rang me before, turns out I have a front spring snapped and several bulbs out also so they are replacing both front springs now too. Asked him if it will still be done today and he said hopefully if not tomorrow mid morning.

He is phoning me this afternoon to give me an update so guess I will find out then.
