    Default What would you do?

Yesterday, Wind was blowing hard from hurricane katia. As bad as ive seen for a while. Went out to the car to drop kids off, as i went round the front i seen 2 bits of car material, didnt think much of it as it wasnt black like mine. So carried on got to drivers side and my mirror was pointing forward of the normal position. I somehow still put this down to the heavy wind we'd been having.

Then today looked out my window to see some guy giving some other guy directions (whilst stuffing wing mirror plastic into his pocket in a rush). So i had a closer look, this guys wing mirror was broken and pointing in. AH HA bingo. things started looking a lot clearer.

Went out to give him an ear full and he was off before i could even get to the door. Got his reg though checked with ECP and its the same vehicle (astra). So if it wasnt for this other guy asking directions id be none the wiser, also per chance i glanced out the window. Would he have stopped to give his details if he'd badly damaged my car? doubt it very much.

    Do i:

Phone the plod and get him to apologise????

Just grab a chill pill and get on with life, and know this guy has 1 over you????

If there is no damage to yours i'd be ****ed and just leave it. If there is damage maybe report it to the police as a hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident etc.

yeah its the fact he legged it first off, not stopping to make sure my car was ok. then coming back to get his part so in theory legging it twice. He's one of these people that would take your car out whilst in the car park of a shopping centre, and drive off. As this has happened to me (getting hit). lol

What you could do, is go and report the incident as a fail to stop, he hit your car and didn't exchange details. I believe that's still an offence.

I would report them, they could be drivig without insurance etc, the next person may not be very lucky. Makes you wonder why they didn't want to stop, I had someone hit the drivers door mirror while I ws sat in the car playing with my 'diagnostic' apperatus, , they did stop, which suprised me greatly.

this happened to my mate the other week although he was the other driver (he did phone the police and report it when he realised) the police had the details of the man whom he had hit (he had my mates reg too) and they settled it amicabley he still had to go down to the police station etc - but it ****es you off when they just drive off - as said its failing to stop after an accident i'd report him
