Default Who's Had The Manifold Fixed Under Warranty?

The Signum IS3 is suffering the dreaded swirl valve problem - all the usual symptoms, lack of power, link bar lying on top of the manifold - very sad.

My problem is that Warranty Direct, who have had over £600 of my money over the past 2 years, are refusing to pay a bent farthing towards the repair - their justification is that the damage is due to carbon build-up.

I'm also not impressed that nobody from Warranty Direct has been near the car to properly assess it. My local Vauxhall dealership, Sutherland Arms Garage in Brora, has done its best with them but the answer is still no.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure there have been posts on here from people who have had this job done under a Warranty Direct warranty in the past.

Please get in touch with details about when and where it was fixed. I've made no claims on the warranty until now and I feel the least they could do is make a contribution.

I'd really appreciate any help with this one. Thanks guys.

Ask to speak to someone else.

When I was looking at getting a warranty I asked specificly about the inlet manifold and the known issues and they said it was covered.

So did I. And I got the same reply as you. But I didn't get it in writing!

Personally, I would not touch warranty. It is insurance and insurance companies are wrigglers.

I had mine done under the Vx warranty. Less than 50k miles on the clock, and over 3 years old at the time.
Th Vx warranty has been good though. Had swirl valves, EGR, new CD70, new rear screen and a relay!

It seems aftermarket warranties are chocolate teapots!

arnold clark waranty, walked in with the swirl bar, woman says what seems to be wrong with the car, handed here the bar and said this should be attached to the manifold, didn't pay a single penny towards it.
