    Unhappy excessive fuel consumption

    I wonder if anyone can help me here as iv got a vectra 1.9cdti 120 bhp I can fill it up and I watch the needle going down on gauge while im driving I fill the car up with in 29 miles the gauge as gone ¼ of a tank so gauge say It runs smooth I wonder if anyone can give anys why this is happening plus the cars been serviced new filters and oil egr valve been cleaned

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

    Is it actually using that much fuel or just the gauge moving?

    i dont know for sure you can see the gauge moving down while driving

    If you fill up to brim. Then try it see if it moves. Then go back and see how much fuel it takes.

    As it's more than likely a faulty sender.

    Unless it's just that your putting 20 quod or so in at a time?

    You need to fill it , do 100 miles , then refill , then work out your litres/gallons then your average mpg .
    If it's using that much fuel you have a serious leak somewhere.
