    Default Possible Oil Pump failing???

Hi all, just got myself a Vectra C the other day, got the 2.2 Dti, 93k on the clock, elegance model, so all the toys, got it cheap as it had a Egr fault, which i was ok with, and im currently sourcing a new one, BUT....... tonight driving around, and stopped to pick up my mate and the oil light flickered erraticly??? Searching around the net and im led to believe this could be the start of my oil pump dying?? but i cant find a new oil pump on the net anywhere and obviously motor factors are closed now till monday

Any suggestions to what this could be or whether i am facing the nasty job of sourcing a oil pump and replacing it?

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

How old is oil in it?

Could do with getting oil pressure tested. As it could just be the switch

I have no service history with it so im unsure, would it be worth doing the switch and an oil service on it? theres no increased engine noise which i know some people experienced, :S baffling me cos apart from it being in limp mode due to the EGR valve it runs sweet as a nut

Yes mate that's what I'd do. This week stick some cheap oil in.
Then drop it next week or after 100 mile or so.

Then change oil an filter for good quality stuff.

At least then you'll no you've got good decent fresh oil.
So if it happens agen you can get it pressure tested

Well ive done an oil change on it, with some falcon 5w30 semi synthetic oil today, couldnt find my socket to do the oil filter, so ill do that with the good oil, would i be right in saying the oil pressure switch is located on the sump? theres two plugs on the sump and i can only think of one being oil level and one being oil pressure?
