Day 8 of ownership and shes broken

Hello peeps,

I was going to write about how i was warming to her and starting to enjoy my new Veccy.

This morning i found she was not charging the batt so contacted the garage i purchased her from - i was not going to be told i need to go down the warrenty route as shes only been with me for 8 days so i told them she was coming back asap.

Just as i pulled off the motorway i lost my powersteering, abs, traction control plus had the engine management light come on.

Now im hoping this is all realated to the lack of charging and voltages.

So i now find myself without my new veccy waiting to hear back from them.

But on a plus side - i was starting to like her.

Mine went 9 days after buying mine alternator gave in car only had 42k

Umm mine was on 118000 so i guess its about time it did.

also symptoms of a broken belt, have you checked it?

Yes the belt seemed to be there fine and looked quite new.

Make sure when they change the alternator that they fully retest the battery ... Classic for that to either fail next or to have suffered consequential damage

Umm mine was on 118000 so i guess its about time it did.
