    Default Cable question? Please HELP

    Hi,

Can somebody tell me where can I find this cables:
-the cable that tells the car that the handbrake has been lifted
-the cable that tells the current RPM of the car
-the cable that trigger the lock and unlock of the doors(center locking)
    - where can I find 12v within the fuse box of the driver seat that gives continues current without the need to add the key or unlock the car. Like there is for the NCDC 2013 on my car

I need to know this cables because I'm trying to fit an after-market alarm. And yes it's a pain to find all the cables but manage to find some of them so far.

    Best Regards,
    Cornel

If you take rear ash tray out. Is there the earth cable for handbrake there? Only a guess as I'm not sure
Rpm is taken from crank sensor am sure. But could also be from gearbox.
    Not sure on central locking

And 12v permant would be any brown cable

If I take the ash tray out I can see the OBD2 connector , a big numbers of cables that I can't see a way I can actually test every cable do to the little space there is.
About the RPM can you tell me where can I find the cable?
About the 12v cable. Can you tell me where Can I find it. I allready tested a lot of big brown cables and non of them holds permanent 12v . After 10-20 min all the power is gone when the car is locked.

    Vehicle : Vectra C

    Engine : Z19DTH

The one thing that they all have in common, is that the hand-brake and door switches connect to the (BCM) body control module.

RPM signal will come from the engine ECU, which communicates to the UEC (underhood electrical centre), which then communicates to the body control module.

    As mentioned..

    The main wire colours are..

    RED= Battery (permanent) 12 volts.
BLACK = CIM / BCM controlled ignition live
    BROWN = Earth / ground / chassis / 0 volts

    GREY/YELLOW = interior lighting voltage.
Single GREEN = Low (or SW) Speed CAN High Communication
GREEN and WHITE twisted pair = Either Mid-Speed or High Speed CAN Communication. (Green High, White = Low)

    Exclamation

OMG I will need to add like 30 m of wire for the car alarm then. Is there anyone who has ever fitted an after-market alarm to a pre-face vectra c with half can bus here?

Really need help with the center locking.

You shouldn't need to add loads of cable..

That is the point of CAN commuication cables - to reduce the amount of cables that run the length of the car.

To fit the alarm, you should not require the hand-brake nor Engine RPM signal..
So what do you need these for.

Hand-brake signal is a wire from the lever (basic switch wire to earth) from the BCM

RPM signal is a digital (data-packet) signal from the Engine ECU, to the CIM module and Instrument cluster.

    Permanent 12v.
You could run a fused link directly from the battery, or from the rear electrical centre.
There is a How 2 for fitting an auxilliary lighter / charge socket in the boot of a Vectra Estate / Signum.
The REC fusebox is roughly the same for all Vectra's and Signums.

    Door lock control wires...
Hmm, the door lock "state" is monitored by the BCM. This uses CAN messages from the Drivers door module, Passenger door module and rear electrical centre.

I am surprised that you need to fit an aftermarket alarm, as alarms were fitted to all Vectra's as standard in the boot.
There should be a connector in the left rear inner wing next to the rec fuse box.

I will take a look at my wiring diagrams ( BCM, REC and alarm) to see if there is a way to "stimulate" the BCM to lock / unlock the doors.
