    Default radio auto volume at speed

    i dont know its propper name but its sodding annoying!..

    its that thing that turns the radio UP when you drive faster and i hate it

    is there any way to disable it so the radio volume stays at the level i set it at

    Speed Dependent Volume Control (SDVC)

    Yes, there is a setting somewhere.

    What stereo, as it might vary between models.

    On a CCR2006 for example you have to press and hold down the tuner button until it beeps. The display then shows something like "SD VOL +2". Adjust the number by pressing the < or > buttons (from 0 to 5, IIRC). When it displays "SD VOL +0" the auto vol control is switched off. To storre the setting, press and hold Tuner again until it beeps.

    On a CD70, it's in the volume sub menu.

    I find setting it to number 2 is about right. Just automatically raises the volume slighty without it being deafening.

    On the CD70, I think you hit the SETTINGS button and it AVC or something like that.
    I find it really useful when setup correctly. Try to play with the settings first before setting it to 0.

    Its probably all explained in that papery thing that came with the car. Unless you don't have one?

    Setting SD VOL 2 works best for me too, on a CCR2006. Just starts to increase it at 60mph when the wind/tyre noise starts to intrude a little. Any more and it starts to get a bit too loud compared to the road noise.

    It does say quite clearly in the manual how to change it - which you can also download in PDF form online.

    just sorted it !.... it was a press of the tuner button until it bleeped and then i set it to two, then pressed tuner again.... job done
