    Default Help Detailing Black SRi

Ok so I've been poor at keeping my car nice. I have snow foam and a lance, and use megs gold-class shampoo, but that's about your lot.

I have a week off work so I want to spend a bit of time getting the shine back but I need some help with the order and what kit I need.

    So here's the plan...

    Rinse with pressure washer
Snowfoam left to dwell and then rinsed off
Megs gold class shampoo using 2 bucket method and wash mitt.
    Rinse
    Dry using micro fibre towel
    Clay (with megs detailer spray?)

    ...

But this is where I get stuck. I've heard of polish, wax, glaze, and sealant but I'm not sure what I need to remove/cover light swirls, give good protection and a deep shine, and I don't know what order to apply stuff.

I've heard of Poorboys black hole (glaze?), Chemical Guys Black Pearl (Wax?) black light (wax?), V7 (Sealant), colonite 915 (wax).

So the question is, what do I go for, and what order do I apply it in??

    Help guys, I'm confused

I have a black mondeo now and I use fk1000p or petes #53, sometimes a coat of black light after if i am feeling like it!

I can highlt reccommend fk1000p as its easy to use, a massive tin and lasts months.

Blackhole is good at hiding swirls and stuff too

A couple of reflection shots (sorry as I don't have any of the whole car to show you what I mean)

Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Thanks. I'm totally confused lol
Pete's 53 is black pearl wax. So you apply this first, followed by black light which is also a wax?

I thought the idea was to apply a glaze (e.g Black hole) followed by either a wax (e.g black pearl/petes 53/black light) or a Sealant (e.g fk1000p or v7)

Am I close or still a mile off?

You cant go wrong with AG SRP followed by a good wax. I recommend AG HD Wax but as Big Sig says FK1000 is a good wax too, plenty to choose from from Collinite, Megs, Dodo its just all about how much you want to spend. Blackhole is highly regarded for black paint too. Dont see the point in sealants over wax or wax over sealants tbh and ive used Black Light(sealant) and V7 and they are the biggest waste of cash I've spent. V7 is no more than a quick detailer IMO, and an expensive one at that.

    So maybe
    Blackhole --> FK1000p??

Blackhole has some fillers or whatever in so should give a nice finish and cover up the imperfections. Then use FK1000p to seal the finish??

I've seen a lot of good stuff about blacklight and v7 so interesting that you don't rate it. If I understand right the blacklight is only a sealant so it would have to be applied over a polish like SRP or blackhole anyway? If so, what's the point in v7??

Exactly. As I said its just an expensive quick detailer to me tbh. Yes you can substitute Black Hole for SRP as far as I remember, then seal it with a good wax.

Black light is a sealant. Just depends what mood im in really. Sometimes it doesn't even get washed!

Thanks for the help so far guys, I think I'm starting to get it.

What would I apply the blackhole and fk1000p with ?? Would foam applicator pads work for both and do I need to buff either off?

I think blackhole comes with a foam applicator so I would say foam for both, They don't really need buffing just remove the residue after the curing time.
