Default Scumbags better start running now!

My collie's been acting odd for the last 24 hours, off his food, very clingy, just wanted to lay/stand with his head in mine or Wendy's lap. Wee a funny colour.
Took him up vets, he's been too good a friend and companion over the last 6 years not too.
    Vet's conclusion: Poison.
Now, there's only one part of the garden we can't see him, and only two gardens could possibly throw anything over - and one's the PITA we have the problem with, who has a bar b q in frequent use. He came back from wherever he'd been Saturday, and the vet reckons 24-48 hours to take effect. Too little for police, but I know what I think, and if I finnnnd I'm right I'll make him swallow the entire container of whatever it was, bigger than me or not.

Can the Vet not narrow it down to what the poison is?

We have had 2 dogs in our village killed by poison and 1 that thankfully survived it is believe the poison was on public land in the village where people walk their dogs. Dog warden done sweet GA about it. It could be someone who is fed up with the dog poo that some in the village fail to pick up. The dog warden only does checks after the time that the culprits have walked the dogs I.e. early morning

Not meaning to throw a spanner in the works here but could it be possible he ate a slug or you left his toys outside were a slug could crawl over them ? these are poisonous to dogs.

Just a thought before jumping over fence in your superman pj's

can you not move as all this must not be doing you both anygood as well as the dog what next will he do
i know moving will feel like he has won but its better than living in fear that your dog might not survive the next time

Not enough proof to go jumping fences yet, and too public. Hadn't thought of slugs, suppose it's possilbe, Vet kept asking if poison was possible and if he could have chewed anything in the house harmful - no chance. Got to go back tomorrow so will ask them about slugs - he's had two injections, one to bring his temperature down (105degrees) other was anti inflammatory, he has a small suspect lump in intestines. Normally just licks stuff to see if of interest. We have found bits of sausage etc over by the fence, and neighbour is no dog lover.
Just been told Police unlikely to be interested, and RSCPA will just offer to rehome dog.
Vet more concrned with dog treatment than identifying poison as he seemed to be recovering apart from the temperature. No way he picked anything up on common land, vet reckons whatever it was would need 24 - 48 hrs to show signs, noticed it yesterday afternoon. Neighbour came back Saturday.

Just keep an eye out for any food objects laying in garden and keep them as proof and maybe get them checked for poison hope he recovers soon
