Exclamation RAC Warranty????.What a load of CRAP!!!

Posted a question the other day regarding an alternator problem.Anyway,I got the RAC to attend and they diagnosed the thing was goosed and needed replacing. So,rang their warranty department and arranged to take it into one of their authorised repair centers with the breakdown sheet, current MOT and last recent service invoice, etc, etc.I did all this and left the car with them. They rang me back about an hour later stating that the warranty company wanted to see the COMPLETE service history of the vehicle and would I take it in for the garage to send it off to them!!!!.Now there is no way I am prepared to allow that to happen. They can have copies of anything that's relevant, but they can whistle for the originals. What a laugh, that's the RAC for you......Beware.I intend to contact trading standards and let them loose on them, seems very suspicious to me.........Watch this space!!!!!!!!. FELIXX.

think warranty direct are the same mate they insist on a full service history but like you no way would they be getting the original documents
there must be another way like taking the originals into the garage where the car is and getting the service manager to photo copy them

I sent them the relevant service invoices and they got back to say that the policy was invalid because the first service had overrun the maximum mileage by 3K miles!!!!.Just goes to show what lengths they will go to to avoid paying out.Anyway I instructed Halfords to go ahead and that I would pay if it couldn't be sorted out.I informed the RAC that the original owner had the vehicle on the flexi service schedule etc,etc and that they could please themselves what decision they came to but that I would be getting in touch with Trading standards etc,etc and making a claim, not only for the Vectra policy but also for my other car.About an hour later I got a call from Halfords to tell me that they had given the go ahead. So,new lucas alternator fitted for £25!!!....Result.And.....Halfords did a great job and were very helpful all round. Can't fault them in the least.Very professional and did a cracking job.Really would recommend them and use them again. FELIXX.

I had the same issue with third party providers
I supplied a photocopy or scan of the service book, then advised them the original receipts could be obtained from the relevant retailers and supplied them with a list
Even worse on my AA warranty, as the servicing was paid for by VX and so there was no receipt (as this was sent to VX)
However, they all accepted this as was confirmed by the dealership that payment had been made and matched the service book
