confused Mid level DA? Can you recommend?

    Evening all

I have been thinking of buying a DA or rotary polisher

I'd like to get into detailing and try a little correction work, I have a little experience from years ago when I was a valeter when we used to 'mop' a car

I had been looking at a rotary on eBay and have read some threads which have put me off a little

So I'm after any recommendations for an entry/ mid level DA ( would ideally like a kit with some decent pads etc to get me started, there is so much to choose from out there, knowing what is good and what is not is difficult to say the least!

Ideally I don't want to spend several hundred quid!

Many thanks for any advice you can give!

Can't go wrong with kestrel DAS 6 mate, I got one earlier this year, never used one before and very easy to use. DA and few pads came to about £100. Quite a few good deals on eBay mate for starter kits. HTH

dont let rotary put you off, if your not using heavy cut or wool then rotary is a fairly safe machine, just keep the pads moving and start out using spot pads to keep the heat down.

read up on machine control etc and go steady and the rotary is a good weapon, i went strait to rotary and have had good results using menz polishes and chem guys hex pads, with no issues at all.

I use a cheap Silverline rotary and have done a number of cars this year from the soft paint GMs to the Benz down the street. Stick to the soft pads and work the polish right and there are no problems. Just remember to FULLY break down your polish and you don't get the nasty holograms.

Thanks for your advice, now I'm really not sure! I had set on a das 6 but Im sure it was a rotary I used years ago when I burnt through the paint on a mondeo bonnet! There is a das 6 on the bay with 2 pads and some g3 for about 80 quid, I think I'll go down the scrappy and get an old bonnet to practice on!

I went with the DAS6 Pro, bigger motor and double the length lead, I thought it worth the extra.
