    Angry Help.battery light keeps coming on!!!

    My battery light keeps coming on after a couple of miles,but,if I stop and restart,it goes off for a short while then comes on again.The same thing happens if I keep doing this.Can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong and what to do etc.Thanks in advance.FELIXX.

    alternator,
    does it just stay on or get brigher with revs? thats what happened on my old gsi alternator was overcharging the battery.

    Have you taken the voltages, with engine running and engine off, with a multimetre?

    First port of call - change the belt itself. I was suffering with the battery light coming on sometimes when I started, and then going out when I restarted. After changing the belt it hasn't happened at all...

    Hi felixx. I would go for the alternator failing as well. The symptoms you have are exactly the same as I had.
