Default Help with a Part No for drivers door lock mechanism

    Hey guys,

Right, I've still got the issue with the drivers door and it thinking its still open when infact its closed. It is very temperamental but it often gives me trouble when the weather is warmer than 19 degrees celsius!

Anyway, after adjusting the catch plate and doing other things, i've seeked advice from local mech and he said its the lock mechanism... he has quoted me just over £100 to get this all sorted but tbh, I could do this myself and get the part much much cheaper... but...

There are 2 part numbers for the lock mechanism, they are:

    QS13210771 & FD24447342

I done a lil research and found this:

The first number FD24447342 is for cars up to chassis no. 61008553

The second number QS13210771 is for cars after no. 61008554

If you look at the vin no. in the windscreen the last 8 numbers should fall into one of those.

Now my chassis number (which I got from the VIN on the windscreen) begins with 3808(0000) - put 0000 as didn't wanna put the rest in...

So am I right in thinking, that I need the part FD24447342?

Can someone clear this up for me?

    Thanks :-)

    Tidy! Sheers Paul.

Thats what I thought, when the weather got warmer something was expending and getting stuck... and when its cooler its not a problem, oh well... only £15 off ebay for a new part but saves me from having to pay over £100 to get it all done lol
