Default 150 cdti inlet manifold question

    Afternoon peeps.

Whilst checking the engine the other day I noticed the bar had fallen off its mounted pivots so its looks like a new maniflod gutted.

As im going to do the job myself I would like to know if it necessary to change the electric drive module? The pierburg spec sheet says you do but im not convinced. Has anyone done there inlet but left the drive module for the old one???

    any opinions?

    Do it..

I know its an extra £100 - but if your gonna do a job, do it fully ..

People have left old ones, but for me, if the makers say change.. Whilst doing a job like this for me its worth doing 100%

A lot people have changed the manifold and left the original drive in place and had no problems.

Didn't replace the motor when I did my manifold and it's been fine.
But just check it's moving the 3rd flap ok when you rev it before you start the job. The motor can be changed with the manifold in place if it needs to be.

Do a search on the 'tap washer mod'. PPL have repaired the swirl bar for a few £. Worth a look

Bought the manifold today so I think I will go with the above if the motor is still working.
