Default Advice on engine work on my car

Hey guys, this is as ive said before, my first Vauxhall and i actually love it.

ive had it for about a month now (1.9 cdti signum 2006 Automatic done 58k)
and i really know nothing about engine work or cambelts etc etc, im literally clueless,

so im just after advice on pitfalls to look out for on these engines and cars in general,

ive heard a few people say about the water pumps going and need work doing to them at certain mileage, the cambelt? (does mine have a chain)
and ive heard about ecu work etc etc,

my mechanic looked over it and said everything looked sound, but i dont want to get caught out or not attend to something at the right time.

its done 58000 miles and i think its next service is 65 but i might get it done earlier, i really need to make this car last me a long time so i dont want to ruin it,
.....like my last one (cambelt went on an is200) ouch..

thanks guys, and dont flame me haha i literally couldnt change a break pad on my own

    Vehicle : vauxhall vivaro

    Engine : 1.9

Cambelt was reduced to 80k due to water pump failure so maybe not this service service after get belt done.

There's plenty of things that could go wrong. But then so can Any car. Look through forum and you'll see. Swirl flaps, dmf, egr etc. but most modern cars suffer from these.

Bit sure if yours has dpf or not someone maybe to confirm. If it does let's it complete it's regen when ever it happens and should be trouble free.

Keep the services regular. Turbos like nice fresh oil. And you should have a good car
