    Default rear wiper blade

probably one of the more stupidier questions this week, but bare with me please

When i bought the car it never had a rear wiper blade, after the rain this week i figured it may be a good investment. So i whacked my num plate into halfrauds to see what size i need e.c.t.

it says i need a flat blade wiper (code W102). The fronts are not flat blade so why would the back ones be flat ?

Do i get the flat blade or should i get the usual style one. Also what size are they, l typed my reg somewhere else and its coming back with a 24" inch blade which cant be right.

Also what do people think about them retro fit flat blades ? they any good? Might do the front ones while im at it as there gettin naff

i have a 2003 hatchback, my rear wiper is a 16", but a specific shaped one that follows the lines of the mould of the arm.
    i got mine from here

my fronts are 24 and 19", and i got my flat blades from this guy, been on the car a year and great imo, but the quality varies from seller to seller, but found him to be spot on, bought a couple of sets for various cars now from him with no issues

My 2005 sxi had old-stlye wipers at the front and a flat blade at the back (all Vx original) when I bought my car in 2006. Since replaced the rear with one from autovaux: http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal...bid=5&vnum=137 (i bought the late-chassis version for my car)

I think VX fitted the flat blade rear wiper, when they introduced the full canbus cars. I think all facelifts have the flat blade and some late pre facelifts. Someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong. HTH

ah right cheers, yeah ive got a facelift model. Weird how they didnt put flat blades all the way round. Looks like i'll have to pop up VX tomorrow and see how much they are. Been told i can get some for £2.99 down the road but i really dont trust things that are that cheap. My dads had some on his motor for 4 years but the way he looks after his motor, i wouldnt take that statement as a sign of good quiality from the cheap-uns

Well at least i know what im looking for now. if the vx prices are a bit silly i may just get the rear and get some fronts online later on

Get mine from www.wiperblades.co.uk, I use their own brand and they work very well.

Full CANBUS started to come in late 2004, and all models were by spring 2005. That's when the rear wiper changed too, as well as a lot of features started disappearing (some of which reappeared with the facelift though).

Mine's an early 2004 one, with a blade type rear wiper. I just took a 16" refill and slid it into the plastic arm.

Mine is supposed to have the W102 from halfrauds, but it dosent fit!

I have to keep cutting the front ones up to replace the blade in it.
