    confused Car Seat/Airbag Trouble

Evening all, we have a baby due in January and I wanted to put the baby seat in the front with me, but from what I understand, I can't turn the passenger airbag off without some sort of transponder that only comes in Vauxhall's own child car seats? This is a huge problem for us as we have a vintage clothing business and do loads of fairs all over the country every weekend, so the back of the car is always fully packed. I don't mind shoving Becky in the back and taking a bit less but there's no way the baby can go in the back with all of the stuff stacked up. I've tried looking on the Vauxhall website as if I really have to then I will buy a Vauxhall car seat so I can get the airbag off, but theres only a few on there and they mention nothing about transponders in their seats. Is there any other safe way of getting the airbag off without invalidating my insurance? Or does anywhere sell these Vauxhall car seats that I need? I find it pretty stupid that Vectra's and Signum's have to have this transponder, when they are such popular family cars

which is it stupid to be safe, i don't understand.. Why not call vx and ask them what the deal is with their car seats and transponders. tbh I am unaware of these and not heard of them as i put my nipper in the back.

You can disconnect the passenger airbag very easily but it may give you an error on the dash..

Be safe put the child in the back, Its unsafe for the baby to be in the front, back nearside is the best place. Sacrifices have to be made for a baby i'm afraid. I had to sacrifice my mk3 astra convertible but i'd have my daughter any day!

The car also needs to be equipped to know the transponder is actually there. Some are. some are not, depends on the options ticked when the car was new.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
