    Default Spring fitters in Durham

I'm considering putting a set of lowered springs on my 2006 vec 1.8 vvt - nothing drastic but maybe 30mm using one of the spring kits I've seen on LMF's website.

Question is - what sort of figure am I looking at for a garage to fit these? I've not got the tools/room to do it myself so I'm looking for a recommendation for a garage in the Durham area?

Can't advise a garage but an independant could do it in under 2 hours so no more than £100 i'd guess. I've changed 2 x rear springs in half and hour. The fronts are about 1/2 hour each

So £300 for the whole thing is a realistic budget? I'm not after anything really over the top - just lowered a bit and to prevent the VX springs snapping!

Then its a set of alloys...when my scratchcard comes up trumps!

It really depends what set-up you go for. There are several threads with different recommendations, there always is as it's a personal preference. This is the first car i've had that i won't be lowering. Sri setup on 19s is comfy enough for me. If you drop it any major amount it will get bumpy, 35mm is about ok. Shouldn't need to change your shocks at that height either as long as they're not knackered. the sri is down 20mm (i think) as standard so if you have that then it will only be another 15mm down The ones on the lmf site are good stuff. Apex/spax and eibach etc are all big names aswell as koni

If you can get hold of a set of spring compressors its a piece of cake to do yourself, plus you'll save £££ in garage fee's

I gather you only need the compressors for the front set? I think a mate of mine might have some.

I saw the Demon Tweeks ones as well - too many choices!
