Just make more noise rab, OE ftw!
The theory is it helps to distribute heat across the braking surface and so improve braking.
I had them on my preface and they felt 100 times better than the stock brakes but I don't know if that's because the old ones were so badly worn the car could hardly stop!
Rab save ur money for 314's standards are terrible!
so really they're cosmetic then????
they look the part and thats it???
I'll be getting another set as and when I need to replace the bog standard set on my 1.9cdti but that's probably as much to do with liking the way they look throu the alloy.... Plus I couldn't afford a calliper upgrade.
Cheap drilled disc's can crack (Had 2 sets crack myself) but grooved disc's deglaze the pads and help remove the build up of hot gas between the pad and disc under hard breaking.
Having said that there is no substitute for surface area so go bigger if possible,
Also defo do a full brake fluid change, helps lots!
