    Default 9/11: The Firemen's Story

I'm pretty sure threads have been made on almost every forum with a "General Chat" section on 9/11, but I want to say my bit.

Watching the program on Channel 4+1 tonight, listening to the firemen describe some of the horrific scenes they saw, watching grown men cry over losses of their crew, brothers, crying for fear of never seeing their children again, and for the general public, I find it hard to hold back a tear for them myself.

They are absolute heroes, and carry out a job that I would never be able to do!

I have the utmost respect for every single person who helped in that tradgedy.

Actually got Jan off the computer sat down and watching that ...........
You just can't imagine what those guys went through ... ppl throwing themselves off the towers and landing all around ...brought tears to my eyes ..one fireman had his mate that was standing next to him hit by one of the faLLing bodies and killed him instantly.
Would any of you ran up 90 floors of those towers ????????????????

Could never imagine being involved in any incident any where near that scale

An experience that will have changed so many lives, not just those that lost someone but also those that witnessed it happening around them.

I'd imagine that those guys experienced worse things in a single day than most would see in a lifetime.

and yet I've heard, on the latest remembrance occasion, they have no room for any of the emergency services people there on the day, full with politicians and celebrities.
Ridiculous, they should be in the front row!

I agree. The scenes were total madness, horror story come true.

What I never realised were the rivalries between the POLICE and the FIRE crew. Gangland type fueds between them

Thats disgraceful. In this modern age of communications, the Police and Fire Crews dont talk to each other !!! WTF !!!

The Police helicopter pilot saw the Colapse of Tower 1, but nobody notified the fire crew in Tower 2 until it was too late.

    I couldnt beleave that part

I watched it this afternoon after recording it on sky+. It was very interesting to see it from the firefighters point of view, with their accounts of what happened to them and the horrific sights they saw including losing their colleagues. Especially the firefighter who was the only one to survive out of his crew.
