    Default Z20NET Timing Chain Parts

A couple of people have asked recently for the part numbers for the items needed to replace the timing chain on the 2.0T; I found this list on the 'net, although I haven't checked the numbers yet so can't speak for the accuracy of it:

    • 12608580 chain tensioner
    • 12788929 chain gear
    • 13104978 chain control
    • 24424758 chain gear
    • 244435052 gasket-timing gear casing
    • 24449448 chain control
    • 24461834 chain
    • 55352124 timing chain
    • 55557168 chain gear
    • 90537299 chain control
    • 90537300 chain tensioner
    • 90537336 chain control
    • 90537337 chain control
    • 90537369 chain control
    • 90537370 chain
    • 90571925 crankshaft seal

That parts list must include the balancer chain parts aswell. You dont get half of them in the timing chain kit, especially gaskets

Ok I am totally confused found one thread stating

Modified alternator pulley 93172295, belt 55351458, tensioner 24430296

    Another saying

Belt 55351458, tensioner 24430296 and crankshaft pulley 55355289

I am after the parts to change to change the rattle that you can get on the z20net. I don't have it yet but would like them replaced anyway.

The belt (55351458) isn't anything to do with the timing chain, it's for the alternator and a/c compressor, it's the one you can see on the outside of the engine, it has a tensioner that starts to make a noise.

The timing chain is hidden away under a sealed metal cover (to keep the lubricating oil in place) and it has a tensioner as well. The balance chain is behind the timing chain.
