Hi guys I have a strange noise in left rear wheel when the car hit a bump or a hole in the road.I hear the sound like something knocks in the bottom of the body.I have changed the pads and the wishbones too.Any ideas?

Broken shock more than likely, suffering the smae noise, had the car serviced yesterday and was handed a lovely quote for £80 + Vat + labour to replace!

Thank you for the fast response but I doubt about a broken shock, cause the car stands very stable in turns.I'll check it nevertheless.

Upper control arm bushes knackered id say. With the car on teh ground grab the top of the wheel behind the rear of the tyre and pull back and forth. If you hear a knockign noise 9/10 times its the upper control arm thats away.

Wishbones are different to Upper control arms, most on here call them banana arms.

Sounds like the same noise I had and mine was the upper control arms (Also known as banana arms).

With the car parked grab the top of the wheel/tyre and pull/yank as hard as you can and see if the top of the wheel pulls outward.
