...designed the method for changing bulbs in the rear light clusters on the Vec Estate?
Sheesh, were they drunk or what?
If a rear bulb goes on the saloon or hatch, you reach in, unclip the wiring plug, press two clips together and the whole assembly comes out in your hand bulbs and all, change bulb, clip back in, two minute job.
So, as my car has been moaning at me for weeks about the drivers side rear brake light bulb having gone, I thought I'd quickly change it last night when I got home.
Reached in through the cubby (made a bit harder by my amps being in the way but that's not Vauxhalls fault lol), and realised there was no quick way of unclipping the bulb holders. A closer inspection revealed that in fact you have to undo three thumb screws inside to then remove the entire light cluster outwards, once you have the entire light cluster out and have unclipped the wiring plug you then have to undo three philips screws to remove the bulb holders and you can then change the bulb, refitting is the reverse of removal.
Sheesh, what a faff, honestly I've never seen anything like it, they really must have been an after thought when they designed the estate.
