Default No1 Injector fault on 150 CDTI

Heya guys as most of you know i actually own a saab 1.9 but you guys and girls are more helpful than the saab lot!

Basically i thought my problems lied with injector 3 and the wiring.. replaced that, no change. then pummelled loads of 10K boost through the engine and fuel injector cleaner still no change car sounds like a bag of spanners.. now bear in mind im no mechanic at this point i thought i will start the car and starting with No4 injector remove the electric plug from each one in turn. when i pulled 2,3,4 out the car went even more lumpy but on pulling No1 out there was no change. is it safe to assume that the injector it clogged up or could this be an electrical issue. as ever no fault codes have shown previous.

thanks for your help in advance as im ripping the injectors out in a couple of hours with a friend to take to an injector cleaning company tomorrow.

    Kind Regards
    Paul

When you pulled the plugs off the injectors, did it throw codes up? I *think* there is a feedback mechanism that the ECU gets a signal back from the injector opening.

If it was not giving a code, but then did give one when you started disconnecting the wires, I reckon it's safe to assume the electrics are OK, which would then point to a mechanical fault with the injector. Might sound obvious, but make sure the injectors go back in the cylinders they came from, as they are coded to the ECU

thanks for the info the injectors are now with City Auto Diesel in plymouth they did a quick test 2,3,4 spray pattern looks ok but 1 was a mess so looks likely its the injector thats at fault. hopefully after TRAX is out of the way i will get the saab on the road
