    Default new bumper now dull

    hey gents.........the kid who sparayed the bumper had left lots of orange peel on altho it was very very shiny, he wet sanded it and used g3 compound then left and said let me know how it looks!..........its now really dull , has he removed all the clear coat or does it need a machine polish? as always thanks for replies

    By the sounds of it he hasn't polished it properly and most likely sanded it too much

    If he has wet sanded correctly and there is a dull but even finish there is a good chance a machine polish will sort it out , have you got access to a machine polisher? Its got to be best to try it , using G3 by hand will take forever. Suprising how quickly using a cutting pad and a polisher how it come up nice and shiny.

    after wet sanding, how long did he polish for??

    usually takes a good couple of hours to get it 100% after wet sanding

    cheers kman...........no machine polisher, did buy a rotary off the bay but got scared off by those in the know.........damn lol

    by the way he used a rotary with the g3...........has he just not done it enough? or not very good

    Defo needs machine polished, take ur time with the rotary and u will get there

    What did he laquior it with could be cheap stuff. if it was you can polish but it will all ways go dull again

    just get him to go over again and again with the buffer, see if it can be brought back to life

    when i done my bumper, it literally took me about 5 hours to buff it back up, and there are still a few patches which are still not perfect
