Default How long should I wait ?

I had a rear boot spoiler and a front splitter painted on Wednesday and fitted yesterday.

How long do I have to wait before I can give the car a good wash or would it be safe enough to wash it tomorrow.

Never fitted newly painted parts before so I thought I'd better ask.

if it's cold, clean water with no detergent then you can wash it today..

avoid harsh cleaners or sealers for a week to allow any solvent trapped in the paint to come out..

think of it as just a gentle rinse today...

If the paint has been oven baked (which I would have thought they would have been) then in theory you can carry on as normal (that's what I've been told by my bodyshop). However, I'd also go along with what Mark said and leave it for a week before you do anything other than a simple wash.

If it hasnt been oven baked (unlikely) then your looking at several weeks before you can do anything.

Yes, it was oven baked, the bodyshop did say i could wash and clean it as normal.

But, taking the advice given, I will leave it a week to be sure.

    Thanks
