I need your help please with Ribbon Cable-Auto Wipers.

Right folks,

I had a look at the auto wiper ribbon cable today and went out with the 12v soldering iron to repair.

Someone has proper screwed this cable up. As soon as I touched the contact with a sharp screwdriver to inspect, it was clear what was going on.

2 of the points of the ribbon are completely damaged and are snapped off so it appears that someone tried to repair it, couldnt do it quite simply butchered the ribbon back so it was touching.

So it looks like im either going to have to bring three wires from the back of the car (as someone mentioned) to the front and retro repair it OR can I repair the ribbon cable someway somehow?

PLEASE HELP.

If I can repair the ribbon, that would be very helpful as otherwise its quite a job to sort out and hassle that I didnt really want.

repair the ribbon mate just put 3 pieces or cable in join them to each end

How do I repair the ribbon? I dont know how to? Can I just join wires to the ribbon?

yes just try and strip back a little bit mate both ends and put a piece of cable between and solder up

I have a pre face roof loom that has that plug , when I fit it to mine I am not going to use it as I only need it for the rear int light and vanity mirrors , would I be able to cut it off and send to vmg or will I get any errors ??
