Does it not just need bleeding and topping up?

Don't think you need to program it in (might be wrong though )

I always bleed them with the engine ticking over, turn the steering lock-to-lock slowly a few times.

Check the connections on the battery-to-body earth, and at the steering pump.

    Re-check the fluid level.

Also, check the volts at the battery with the car ticking over and all electrics (blower, air con, lights, etc) off. Should be about 14.3v. If it's lower, it could be a suspect alternator, as the power steering is usually the first thing to stop working when the alternator starts to fail, as I found out!

I learn something new every day

Dealers charge about £75 for a Tech2 session. Think there's a section on here with a list of people in areas with Tech2 and Opcom, who are willing to help out other members

Shouldn't need programming - I had mine changed a couple of months ago, bought a second hand one of ebay, and it's fine. Stupid question, but is the new one for the same vehicle? Don't know whether that makes a difference or not?
