    Default More boost

If you are fitting a hybrid turbo as I have and wish to raise the boost above the 3 bar absolute limit, it can be done quite easily by fitting a third party 3.5 sensor. I used a Zeitronix MAP sensor good for 50psi absolute.

Best to add the sensor and remap at the same time with a place that has an external pressure sensor, so you can ensure you don't over cook it.

Yes but will it now do 1/4 mile in less than 15 seconds?

My (very) old Honda CBR1000 will do it in less than 11, but that seems not to be the point of the excercise.

Perhaps we should have a club prize for the first sub 14 second Vec - new engine or tyres come to mind hehehe.

I think with over 240bhp now I should be under 15 seconds.

That's a serious amount of power. How much room is there left to play with if you have stock internals?

Probably not a lot... but quite a testiment to the engine: same specific power output for 3.0L would be 379hp...

Well that was on Friday when I was running the stock 3bar sensor at its max of 29psi relative. After fitting the 3.5bar sensor, I should be running about 34psi and need to get it back on the rollers to check the exact boost and what output it is making now as I have had to turn the methanol down alot in the peak torque reagion 2500-3000rpm to prevent clutch slip.

Can you increase the boost on a standard vectra, and is it online done via a remap, the car already has a map.
