    Default Front End Lights!!

Finally got round to swapping in my new bulbs. Went for Osram cool blue sides, and Ring XenonMax 100% main and dipped. Was a bit concerned about having to drop the bumper, especially after reading some of the stories on here.

Managed to do it by removing both the battery and fuse box lids, and the washer bottle spout to gain access to the offside. The near side was a little harder, I took out the air filter box to gain access there. The hardest part was to get the lower part of the filter box back in again whilst the pipe to the air intake remained connected at both ends as I'd never have got them back on afterwards. (well, that and remembering to connect/tighten everything back up afterwards).

Job done, and no scratches. All told about 30-45 minutes.

Removing and refitting the bumper is easy. Prob a few mins less than the method you chose to use, and with less faffing about too.

M8 faff about as much as you like , its how you learn after all.

Yes your way was the harder way in some respects but credit to you that you took it on and did it.

Glad you got it sorted and yes i would have gone the other way (remove bumper) but thats only because I was advised here to do it that way and took the plunge many moons ago.

I bet you now know your engine compartment a lot better, which is no bad thing.

I do know my way around a bit more than I did. Found out where the butterfly is, lol and the MAF as I tried a bit of injector cleaning too with a suitable spray (as you can tell I'm no mechanic!!, but give me a IT software or hardware issue, thats a different matter ...) As you say, I've learnt one way to change bulbs; next time I'll try the remove bumper method. It's all a learning curve if nothing else.
