Default Advice on removing the front grille badge (facelift)

    Evening all

I have removed the front Chrome V and have started to sand this down so it can eventually be colour coded to the car.

Im a bit stuck on how to remove the front badge from the V.

I see four clips which I can pop out but the badge wont budge and I dont want to force it.

Could someone maybe let me know what im missing

    Many thanks

That clip in the middle between the 2 bottom red dots, and the 4 red dots will release the back plate, that the badge clips into.
It is stiff to get out and fragile, you just have to be gentle and forceful.
    Or
The badge will remove without taking the backing plate off by releasing the silver clips around the center dome and pushing a thin point through each small hole at the back off the dome to ease it out, again gently

Thanks for that Wolflinn. That really helps.

Naill83 - I have started to use 120 Corse wet and dry. Im leaving it quite rough so the primer will take to it. It looks like scratched stainless steel now.

Its very slow going but all in all has taken me about 1.5 hours of sanding so far. Just need to finish off some small areas once the badge is off

I think you'll also need to scrape away all the little dimples in the middle. They're pins that come through the black plastic part from the griffin. The griffin and the chrome ring are bigger than the hole in the chrome V, so if you don't take the griffin off, yu can't take the black plastic part away from the V, if that makes sense!!

    Hi

I remove the front bumper and placed a small flat head screw driver bit under each clip that held on the v. Once I edge all of the bits in I then slowly slid the front V out. Just take your time with it and you wont break any clips.

Also getting the badge off was a right pain in the rear. The little dimples/pins you see in one of my pics (Back of the badge) were glued in. I scrapped away all excess glue but then had to use a very small posi driver to push the pins which attach to the griffin badge out.

I rushed it and broke a few as I was getting a bit upset with it. Hmmm. Anyhow it finaly came away. Once everything was painted I used araldite to glue all back together again. Hasn't moved since.
