Default This ever happen to anyone? (bulb related)

I bought some fancy number plate bulbs off ebay,
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3103317327...84.m1439.l2649

quite expensive compared to the other cheap ones,
i thought they would be great
and they were.. for about 2 days,
i realised one was out before, so i took the bulb holder out and jesus...
one end had completly blown off and it was black and the end was caved in

Now i noticed they were strobing for about 30 seconds after i locked the car but what the hells happened?

could it be due to slamming the tailgate shut??
its put me off buying new ones, but they look really smart at night, can anyone shed any light?

LEDs will strobe due to the lamp failure checking system.

LEDs strobe due to them having a lower current draw and low internal resistance.

So with there still being a resisted power as car shuts down when locked. That's where the strobing is.

I bought all mine from LEDs for you or some website of similar name can't remember it excactly but there all really good
