    Question water temp gauge

    what douse your gauge say mine floats between 0 and 75 c and i have been back to where i got the car and he says that's what Vectras do .

    about 85 irrc on my 1.8, if it gets to 92ish the fans kick in. i did have to change the stat at the start of the year as the temp guage hardly registered, and when it did, as soon as i got up to a normal speed, it went straight back to the start again

    i have asked them to do the stat and they say they have done it but i think i will do it myself so i know its done

    You need a new thermostat mate

    Should sit at about 85-86 when warmed up.

    The 'stat will cost about £40, and best to change the coolant at the same time, rather than re-use the old staff. Whole job should take about an hour

    when i done mine, i just bought the internal part, £12 + delivery iirc, and fitted that within the existing housing
