    Default signum 3.0v6 elite coolant problem?

    Hi all, ive become a vauxhall owner after buying a cheap 05 plate signum 3.0v6 cdti elite from a car dealer in bedworth cov, it had 80k on clock had a few ropey body scuffs, bald tyres, mot 1 month left .
    I had a good look around the car , the engine running and driving was good, and interia spotless . It was under milage for the recomended next 83 k service, but i had a full one and a healthcheck within two weeks of getting it home (i drove i very causeously until the service and h/c).
    Since the service was done i drove from notts to bakewell/matlock and noticed with a bit of shock my coolant warning light was on ! i pulled up cooled the engine and topped it up, since then every journey around 50 miles my coolant light pops on and when i look the level is a few inches below the halfway cool mark on expansion tank, ive had a test on the head and its came back with no signs of problems , there was traces of oil in the coolant so its now gone to dealership garage for investigation . in the last week ive just noticed a slight showing of coolant around the expansion tank on the lip of the half way mark , so a new expansion tank and cap is being fitted aswell as the investigation into why oil has found its way into the expansion tank.
    Im dreading its the head or worse, so im just waiting for my call from the vauxhall garage , any feedback would be greatly appreciated as im not a mechanic , i will keep you posted, thankyou carmadcarl.

    Auto or manual? The water could be going into the auto box and that is going to be expensive.
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    YO big stig lol, its a manual gearbox sir, ive had it back today after an expansion tank and cap change(£50) main dealer fitted , ive also had them do an inspection, and they tell me its all good . Im not going to know until ive been on a long run, id say around 100miles should be a good test, so fingers crossed for now .

    Sounds exactly like my car. Previous owner sold it because of it. An was head gasket. And head had warped 2 :-(

    Hope that fix has sorted it

    Yeah I no mate but I've done 10k since and it's been great

    Even had it on rolling road on sat an it pulled 177.6 so not lost anything in 6 years an 112k miles gotta be happy with that
