    Default Signum with em light problems - P1901

    Can anyone offer any advice. I've got an 04 Signum 1.9cdti 150 and have the spanner and car em light on the dash. It's been diagnosed as fault code P1901, which I'm led to believe is the DPF? As far as I know it regenerates, as I took it out for a thrash yesterday and it appeared to do it. I've since had the em light cleared to see if a regen would solve the issue, but it came back on again straight away. Vx tell me its either a blocked DPF, EGR valve or split intercooler pipe. Throwing money at the problem isn't an option as I've recently had to fork out for clutch and DMF

    Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please???

    Oh and I've also had a slight intermittent misfire since I bought it a year ago, only between 1500 to 2500 rpm, any speed and any gear, engine warm and cold. It just seems to do it when it feels like it and no-one has been able to diagnose so far.

    Have a read here: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77190 with regards to the fault code as for the slight hesitation, try unplugging the egr valve & take it for a run, if it doesn't hesitate whilst unplugged then the egr could do with a clean... hth

    Thanks I'll have a look. Should also have probably said that it's done 109000 miles and I mainly do motorway mileage, cruise control at 68 in 6th gear. Apart from the hesitation when it feels like doing it, the car runs fine and mpg is normal (50.2) even with the car/spanner light on.

    The mis-fire could be the 3rd injector, if you have not had the mod done. The code you have got is particulate filter high differential pressure (i think), I have had the same problems . I doubt very much the problem is with the EGR or a split intercooler pipe as the DTC 1901 relates specifically to the DPF. Also, I was told that a misfire will create more soot which could explain why you're particulate filter is blocked.

    Dpf may not actually be blocked it could be a faulty Exhaust gas pressure sensor

    Any tips on the best way to clean the DPF please guys? I think I'll start with that but probably end up cleaning the EGR and updating the 3rd injector wiring as well.
