    Default Website Creation

I was wondering if anyone can help, I am going into self employment as an Architectural Technician doing plans etc. I am wanting to create a simple website to get me started, but I want to be able to keep updating it myself. I know the domain I want is available in both .co.uk and .com formats so want to get it as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

A simple site could be constructed within minutes mate, setting up hosting could take unto 48hrs and there's loads of web hosting offers out there at the moment some as cheap as £1.99 for 3yrs
Domain name will cost anything from £5-£20 dependant on name and usually lasts fir 2yrs then you renew.
I would of helped you set one up but in the muddle of doing a website ATM and got another 3 waiting so will have my hands tied

depends what rules you mean, as your also not allowed to trade via PM..

As for a website, You really cannot go wrong with something as simple Wordpress, its easy to install (less than 5 minutes) and there's a ton of plugins to it that allow you to do pretty much anything you want...

Also, go for a UK based host as you're target is the UK you'll want fast load times..

Can I just point out that employing someone who's not a designer to design a website is sort of like employing a butcher to carry out open heart surgery. Yeah sure they may be ok with blood and guts but they're going to make a real mess! The same goes for having a go yourself using WordPress. It's not a great advert for your business that your site looks strangely familiar to a few thousand other websites and (as with most wordpress sites) is slow and full of bloated, distorted images downloaded directly from your camera with no web optimisation or even worse, ripped off other sites.
