    Default my knobs fell off

    driving up the coast today changed gear and the gear knob vanished into the passenger footwell, no warning wasn't loose previously,stuck it back on gave it a thump now all seems fine, have heard of it happening to others whats this all about

    mine came off of the old vectra, large blob of superglue did the trick.

    I always use my knob vigourously. Not falling off as yet. I must be lucky I guess!!

    I was too much of a woose to try the glue trick... (I thought it would foul the reverse spring?)
    So I just bought a new Irmy gearknob. The old one, the thread had been worn badly by a mate trying to SCREW the knob back on.

    Same here. I opted for the araldite route myself. Not that's really any help or at all interesting.

    My signum has a loose knob also, came off in my hand, not a nice experience whilst driving

    Did the same on my Vec C when the knob had worn loose & kept coming off regularly. No further problem in 5 months between the fix & selling the car.
