    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI hatch

    Engine : z19dth

    Year : 2006

    Mileage : 110000

Default Performance change from swirl bar

Can anyone let me know what the effect of air bleeding past the swirl valves would be, mine has the wear and you can see the grease seeping from the sides and just wondered how this would effect the performance.

    Cheers

Usually this affects performance like a faulty EGR would, sluggish from standstill, only really gets going when the turbo kicks in, and it smells

    Default

Spray some carb cleaner down there and stick a 1" paint brush and brush it all about. I did this, smell went, swirl valves started working and this was many k's of miles ago. Its still ok.

    Default mine is the same

my swirlflaps have vertical movement as well and it dosnt seem to cause too many issues, i cant smell anything in the cabin, i have no fault lights ect and it pulls like a train in all gears after i did the £1 numberplate cap lid mod to re attach the swirl bar that had fallen off due to wear.

that was over 8 weeks ago and it is still attached and going strong

here is the link for the mod
