Transferred the injured patient into my car cos its faster !!

EDIT: Seriously, I would get out of the way, like everyone else. But who pays the bill for your busted splitter, wheel & side skirt, cos where I was it was road works and the tarmac had been skimmed, so the kerbs were massively high... I would have had to take a running jump at them to get out of the way... thankfully the traffic ahead started moving to clear the way !!

dont want to be the one to put a stick in the spokes, but am i right in thinking that there is nothing in the highway code that states you HAVE to move out of the way for an emergency vehicle

Better to move over rather than some poor person not getting to hospital on time.My wife is a paramedic and goes ballistic when people wont move over,it could be a member of our families who is poorly.

I agree with getting out of the way but there is a line of common sense that I would not cross. I know that any damage incurred to my vehicle will be my reponsibility, I know that there is no law that forces me to hurl my car up a huge kerb or into a gutter, so I would hope that the traffic moved enough for all to get safely out of the way without any undue damage to their car.

Lets face it, if I smack my car up a huge kerb and damage the wheel so much that it has to be changed then there is a chance of me becoming a casualty too. Changing wheels are not the best things to be doing on the side of the highway these days. All that said if the side of the road was easily accessable then I would not hesitate to get out of the way.
