    Default Which tyres?

Got a pair of Michelins on the front end, which have lasted for years... Now nearing the end of their life and got a little less grip than I'd like.

Pair of Kumhos on the back (following recommendations from the forum of course!) which have been fine for the past year or so...

What does everyone think? Kumhos for the front? Or maybe Falkens? (not had experience myself, but heard good reviews)

Ive had Kumhos before and to be honest wasnt that impressed

Horrendous understeer and very unpredictable in the wet .

However that was maybe 4 years ago , hopfully they may have changed the compound or grip levels by now , ive installed Yokohama's on the front of mine , very good grip and road feel , i chose them as they were the choice from my racing days.

There is a website which does offer comparisons between all major tyre companies complete with user reviews ... the name escapes me but if you search for tyre reviews itll be there somewhere

    cheers

Might be worth looking at the reviews on here of the Nueton NT5000 on here, sold by Neo Brothers Saab specialist. Just fiited some to my Snowflakes to replace my Conti 2's. Initial impressions....can't tell the difference...wet or dry and i'm fussy and have 2 kids , not to mention the wife drives it too. Nothing but posative for us....not to mention the saving in price over premium tyres.

I have kumhos kh31's all round for about the last 10 months. Wear rate is very good. Handling in wet and dry is good and what I expect from them.. It's not a performance tyre by any means but I'm not one to chuck it around corners. All in all I like them and will buy again when needed.

    Mine are 225/45/17

Dont get me wrong ... i dont hurtle around like a loon , i just want to be able to trust the feel of a tyre ... the ones i had those years ago really didnt inspire a lot of confidence ...

    things change .

Only thing against the Yoko's is they are a touch soft.

I'm told the Nueton NT5000 is made by Yokohama, treadware rating on sidewall is 320 against the Conti 2 which is 280, so should last a little longer hopefully...btw got 15k on front Conti's running 185bhp/325ft/lb torque.

i've got new falken fk452 on the front, seem fine to me.
not expensive "budget" tyres, and do the job for my kind of driving (not racing around corners etc).
haven't had them long, so can't comment on the wear rate.

Just changed to 4 Neuton's, very nice ride, good grip - and I like to push it and see what happens. Not driven them in wet yet, but others say only top tyres are better. Tyre fitters had never heard of them, but commented on how well made they looked, and how efficient the tread pattern seemed for funneling water clear.
