Default Changing over insert on gear knob

guys does anyone know if the plastic part that covers the gear pattern on the top of the gear stick can be changed? I have cracked mine and now have bought another gear knob and would like to just change the plastic section rather than the whole gear knob. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks

    Hi,

At least from my experience, the plastic part of the normal Vectra C knob, slides off upwards from the knob itself just like a cap. I had a leather one and when the leather wore off I was looking for ways to get it off. You need to use a blade or something to dislocate it from the base. Do it carefully though because these things are fairly tough and you want to avoid damage to it. I hope this helps.

im not showing u my knob lol pmsl. I have the sri one and i found that the plastic insert is held in by 3 spiggots so i removed it from the new one and put it in mine so now all sorted . The reason i did this was the leather on mine was in better condition than the new one but all i needed was the insert lol.

i used a 12" stainless ruler, start by inserting it at the base and instead of forcing upwards, twist the ruler left and right to gently get it started and the rest is simplez...
